Please try to remember to do these three things during severe winter weather.

1. Keep a clear path to your fill pipe – If it snows, please try to keep a minimum 18-inch path to your fill pipe clear so our technicians can access it quickly and safely.
2. Clear your driveway – One of your biggest obstacles to getting to your fill pipe is getting our fuel trucks up steep driveways. Safety codes prevent us from parking a fuel truck on an incline unless it is free of snow and ice and wheel chocks (the wedges we put under the tires so the truck doesn’t roll back) can be applied safely. If your driveway isn’t clear, we won’t be able to deliver your heating oil – even if you really need it.
3. Don’t wait until the last minute to call for a heating oil delivery – When fuel is in high demand (during a cold snap, for instance), it’s harder for us to accommodate urgent delivery requests.
