How to Be Ready for the Winter Chill

All of us hope that we won’t see a repeat of last year’s record cold and snowfall. But like any New Englander knows, when it comes to winter weather, you have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

With that in mind, here are some ways we can help you keep your heating costs down and stay warm, no matter what kind of winter we get this time in Middlesex and Norfolk counties.

• Start getting automatic deliveries. You won’t have to worry about running out of fuel again or paying a service fee for restarting your burner. Our automatic home heating oil delivery is a free service and most of our customers are already taking advantage.

• Install a wireless remote smart thermostat. When you’re away from home, you can use your smartphone or tablet to adjust the energy-saving temperature setting so your home is warm and cozy when you arrive. Internet-enabled thermostats can also send you an email or text alert about a drastic temperature change—and possible equipment failure. Some models can even let you know when it’s time to change filters or schedule system maintenance.
• Keep your oil fill pipe clear. We want you to get your fuel to you as quickly and easily as possible. Please make sure leaves or other debris does not block or obscure the fill area.
