Substantially lower your energy costs and increase home comfort
We offer you FREE attic insulation measurement and consultation!
The U.S. Department of Energy recommends an R-49 to R-60 attic insulation level for Massachusetts. R-values measure resistance to heat flow, and are usually determined by the thickness of the insulation. Converted to inches of insulation, R-49 equals 18.25 inches and R-60 equals 22 inches.
Now here’s the bad news:

- Most houses have less than 8” of insulation in the attic.
- Almost 78% of homeowners have not added insulation to their homes in part, because they believe that they have enough insulation already.
- 80% of homes built before 1980 are not insulated to meet government standards, and most newer homes only meet the minimum state requirement for new homes.
- Overall, roughly 60 million U.S. homes are under-insulated, wasting a combined $8.2 billion in energy costs per year.
- Simply insulating these existing home to current D.O.E. recommendations would save 800 trillion BTUs of energy equivalent to (76 supertankers loaded with oil) each year.
With numbers like these, you likely could benefit from a FREE attic insulation measurement and consultation with Needham Oil & Air, a fully trained Owens Corning AtticCat® dealer. Our expert technicians will install the insulation exactly where you need it, providing complete coverage – even around pipes, support beams, and wiring.
Save up to 20% on your heating and cooling bills with a properly insulated attic – and increase your home’s resale value!
Having the proper amount of insulation in your attic is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to stop energy loss – and save money.
Not only that, but you’ll be able to report your improved insulation levels when selling your home, which will give it a higher perceived value than if this had not been done.
Trust your home to the Owens Corning AttiCat® blown-in insulation system.
We only recommend AttiCat, for a number of reasons:
- Owens Corning has been an industry leader for over 65 years, preferred 7-to-1 over the next leading brand.
- Won’t settle or deteriorate with age – won’t lose R-value over time
- Noncorrosive – doesn’t require fire-retardant chemicals that can leach out, promoting corrosion of pipes, electrical equipment or structural metal attachments
-
Noncombustible – meets all model building codes
- Won’t absorb moisture, which would reduce insulation effectiveness
- Doesn’t support fungus or mold growth
- Will not rot or decay
- This low-dust system provides complete coverage and easy cleanup; a 1,000-sq.- ft. attic can be insulated in under four hours (R-30 insulatio). That's up to 25% faster than with other loose fill insulation.
PINK is Green™
We also partner with Owens Corning because, like us, they care about the environment.
In the first year of use, Owens Corning home insulation saves approximately nine times the amount of energy used by the company annually. And year after year, its insulation products continue to help conserve energy without consuming any additional resources.
By reducing the energy required to maintain a comfortable living or work environment, insulation reduces the greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels. Each year, Owens Corning insulation eliminates more than one billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions—equal to the annual emissions of 200 million passenger cars or two billion barrels of oil.
Owens Corning PINK insulation not only saves energy; it also helps conserve natural resources by using widely available and plentiful resources—sand and recycled glass—in its manufacturing process.
The recycled content of its glass fiber and foam products made in North America are certified by Scientific Certification Systems. The company’s glass fiber products use an average of 40% recycled glass content, and its rigid foam insulation uses an average of 15% recycled content, with all foam scrap recycled back into the process instead of going to landfills.
Because of all its green efforts on behalf of PINK, Owens Corning is the first insulation and masonry veneer manufacturer to be “green approved” by the National Association of Home Builders. This designation helps builders and designers select products that meet specific green practices and can earn points toward the National Green Building Standard.
